On Saturday 23rd July there will be an event near the spot on the Downs Link where Pathushan Sutharsan was killed by a lorry as he attempted to cross the A281.
The Bridge the Downs Link campaign are marking the occasion in honour of Pathushan and to highlight the continuing need for a bridge at the dangerous crossing.
Under the banner “Remember Pathushan, Build a bridge” there will be a wreath-laying ceremony and also a board on display with extracts of some of the large number of messages of support received for the campaign.
Campaign chair Hilary Jubert said: “We’d like as many people as possible to gather at 2pm on the northern side of the A281 crossing, near the spot was Pathushan was killed.”
“So, please put the date in your diary and spread the word. Further details will be announced nearer the time.”
The gathering point for the event is indicated by a red arrow on the map below.
You can support the campaign by writing to your local County councillor, displaying one of our posters and signing up for email updates.
