The campaign for a bridge at the A281 Downs Link crossing has drawn support from right across the political spectrum.
Politicians from all locally represented parties (and none) have now backed calls for a bridge at the dangerous crossing.
County and district councillors – along with Horsham’s MP Jeremy Quin and the local parish council – have all thrown their weight behind the Bridge the Downs Link campaign, formed after the death of Pathushan Sutharsan at the crossing in July 2020.
Whether Conservative, Lib Dem, Green or Independent, all are united in their desire to see no more deaths or injuries at the crossing.
At a memorial event for Pathushan marking two years since his death, family members and friends joined in calling for it to be named “Pathushan’s bridge” in his honour.
A bridge is the only solution that makes the crossing safe for everyone.
